Don't come near me whining about the War in Iraq.

    Thursday, August 17, 2006, 03:08 PM [General]

If you don't know anything about the War in Iraq, I don't want to hear about how much you oppose it.

I've heard every argument opposing the war in Iraq. I've heard how we mistreat the citizens by humilating them, and making them a little uncomfortable. Panties on the head is a far cry from having one's head sawed off by a dull knife.

I am proud of my service in Iraq. I know our presence there will propagate a positive change not only in Iraq, but throughout the Middle East.

Consider this: It is true that right now, 3 years after the invasion and subsequent occupation of Iraq the region is unstable, and chaotic. But, imagine 30 years from now. The children who the American soldiers put before our own safety. Who we build schools for, he we hand out candy, toys, clothes, etc... to. When these kids are the democratically elected leaders of Iraq, they will be our allies.

Why is it important for Iraq to be allies with the United States? Consider the terrain Iraq is situated on. Sure, Iraq nearly floats on the 2nd largest oil reserve on the planet, but, Iraq is unique to nearly the entire Middle East due to two fresh water rivers running North and South through their country. There is fertile land stretching for nearly 30 miles on either side of those two rivers. You will recall that Iraq IS the cradle of civilization. These two rivers are the cause of that.

With the United States' guidance, education, and technology, Iraq will be able to cultivate that land more efficiently they will gain influence over the entire Middle East. Iraq, with their unique gift, will be able to feed the entire Middle East, and most of Africa. With this influence, they will be in a better position to diplomacy towards nations who may still harbour terrorists, or other entities who may want to harm the western civilization to inlcude the United States. What better ally? What can France offer us? If the US citizens would look to Iraq as a emerging friend, instead of a 'mistake', we may have one of the best friends we could ever hope for in the years to come.

The US military are doing everything they can to solidify this alliance. We train the New Iraqi Army, the Iraqi Police Force. We protected the Iraqi people so they could enjoy fair elections. We support the New Iraqi government and help them with basic social benifits. We are doing our part to our new friends. Why hasn't the American people done theirs? The Iraqi people see what the US citizens are saying about them on International news. Almost every single residence has satalite TV now.
